Department History
In response to the development of transportation technology and evolving societal trends, the department was officially renamed the Department of Transportation Technology and Management in 2001 with approval from the Ministry of Education. The department offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
Starting from the 2013 academic year, the former Department of Transportation Technology and Management and the Institute of Traffic and Transportation of the university were integrated to form the Department of Transportation and Logistics Management. The department currently offers an undergraduate program, master’s and doctoral programs in Transportation, master’s and doctoral programs in Logistics Management, and an In-Service Master’s Program in Transportation and Logistics.
Faculty members and students in the department are dedicated to research and development in the fields of transportation and logistics management. Research and teaching complement each other, while students are trained to identify and solve problems and to develop independent thinking and creativity. Faculty and students actively participate in academic and practical research related to transportation planning, operational management, and transportation technologies in Taiwan, producing substantial research outcomes.
Through years of effort and support from various sectors, the Department of Transportation and Logistics Management has continuously grown in terms of faculty strength, teaching facilities, and curriculum development. The department is committed to diversified and outstanding development. In the future, it will continue to uphold the founding mission of the department, maintain a proactive and progressive attitude, and cultivate more professionals in transportation technology and logistics management to contribute to national development and benefit society.
