IMPORTANT NOTE

  1. Co-funding Policy for Graduate Program Students
    • From Fall 2016 and onwards, the co-funding from the research advisor, department/institute or college is a compulsory part of the graduate student scholarship award. This policy applies to current student (continuing student) award application, not the newly admitted award which was offered along with admission offer. The sponsorship from the research advisor, department/institute or college will be considered as one of the key ranking criteria, apart from academic/research performance and other view criteria, during the review process.
  2. Chinese Language Course requirement
    • NCTU scholarship recipients who entered from 2013 Spring Semester and onwards need to take Chinese Language courses (see scholarship regulation article VI, section (III)). Students who have taken Chinese language courses before enrolling at NCTU may be exempted from this requirement. Please submit your Chinese Language certificate (TOCFL) or other official proving documents for exemption. Alternatively, you can take the placement test at our Chinese Language Center and submit the passing certificate to waive Chinese language course (please submit before scholarship application deadline). Please also note that some dept./inst. may require more Chinese Language course for graduation requirement. You may consult your dept./inst. for confirmation.
  3. Voluntary Work Certificate (Optional)
    • From 2015 Fall semester and onwards, NCTU scholarship recipients don’t have to do the compulsory services as TA or AA in your department. However, if you have completed voluntary services during  Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters, the record of your service hours will be listed as one of the review criteria for the scholarship application (see regulation article V, section (I) (5)).
  4. Transcript of Grades
    • After receiving your application form, OIA will directly apply for your transcript from Registrar Office. Therefore, you don’t need to apply for the transcript by yourself. However, if your course grade is not released before the CNY, please kindly remind your course instructor to help submit your grade soon so that we could proceed with your application.
  5. Review Result
    • The Scholarship Review Committee will be held in mid-March 2018 and the result will be announced in late March via email afterwards.
  6. Award Period
    • The Spring 2018 scholarship award period will be from March – August 2018 (1 semester). Students should renew/reapply in June 2018.
  7. Meeting the minimum requirement does not guarantee that you will be granted the award you applied for. The awarding is subject to annual budget and committee’s review result.
